Team USA, Wiles Cap Off Tour of New Zealand Wins

(Feb. 21, 2015) – Team USA put the finishing touches on a dominant week at the 2015 Women’s Tour of New Zealand on Sunday, as Tayler Wiles (Fairfax, Calif./Velocio-SRAM) clinched the Yellow Jersey, Lauren Hall (Dolores, Colo./TWENTY16 p/b Sho-Air) took the Stage 5 win and Team USA earned the Team Classification title at the five-stage event.

Wiles crossed with the lead group in 3:14:50, which sealed the Yellow Jersey for the second straight day. The California native earned the General Classification lead at Saturday’s Stage 4 and held on with the group finish.

Hall topped the podium for the third time in the week with her Stage 5 win, which followed Wednesday’s team time trial and Thursday’s Stage 2 wins. She paced the 10-woman lead group in 3:14:50.

Megan Guarnier (Queensbury, N.Y./Boels Dolmans Cycling Team) finished with teammates Hall and Wiles, crossing seventh, while Evelyn Stevens (San Francisco, Calif./Boels Dolmans Cycling Team) and Lauren Komanski (Winston Salem, N.C./TWENTY16 p/b Sho-Air) finished 12th and 14th in 3:14:53.

Wiles secured the final General Classification in 14:21:57, followed by Guarnier in second just six seconds back, Stevens in third 12 seconds back, Hall in fifth 23 seconds back and Komanski in 18th 3:55 back.

Team USA claimed the final Team Classification in 43:03:18, besting Australia by 3:49 and TIBCO-SVB by 8:49.
